Ozarks Healthcare plans vaccination clinics in area communities

Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy staff will host vaccination clinics at several Ozarks Healthcare locations in October.

Pharmacy team members will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at each clinic to provide vaccinations including flu, COVID-19, pneumonia, tetanus, shingles and RSV.

Upcoming clinics are scheduled for Oct. 13 at the Ozarks Healthcare Winona Clinic, 9104 Highway 19 in Winona; Oct. 14 at the Ozarks Healthcare Gainesville Clinic, 37 Medical Drive in Gainesville; and Oct. 21 at the Ozarks Healthcare Willow Springs Clinic, 816 E. Main St. in Willow Springs.

Ozarks Healthcare officials said annual flu vaccination can help reduce the risk of serious illness, particularly among older adults, young children, pregnant women and people with certain chronic health conditions.

“Getting your flu vaccine is one of the simplest steps you can take to prepare for flu season,” said Melynni Yarber, Ozarks Healthcare director of retail pharmacy. “We want to make it as convenient as possible for people in the communities we serve to get their flu shot and talk with our pharmacy team about other vaccines they may need.”

Community members are encouraged to speak with their health care provider or Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy staff about which vaccines are recommended based on age, health history and individual needs.

Outside the scheduled clinic dates, patients may contact their nearest Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy for vaccine availability. Flu shots are covered by most health insurance plans.
