WEST PLAINS, MO., Jun 3, 2026 — Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Demand was good on a moderate supply Wednesday at Ozarks Regional Stockyards. The receipts were lighter than last week due in part to the drier weather which is allowing producers to get into the hayfields. Total receipts were 620 head.

• The top slaughter bull sold for $242/cwt.
• The top slaughter cow sold for $193/cwt.
• On the replacement side, the top pair sold for $4,800/pair.
• The top bred cow sold for $4,100/head.

Feeder market: Steady to weak undertones amid selective buying
Compared to last week's light run, feeder steers and heifers were not well tested Tuesday, however undertones were steady to weak. Steer and heifer calves over 600 lbs were $3 to $6 higher while lighter weight calves were $4 to $8 lower. Demand was moderate on a moderate supply of 2,357 head.
Market Highlights
• The quality of the offering was average with buyers being very selective.
• It is getting to be that time of the year where excessive hair is discounted as much, if not more than, short/unweaned and non-vaccinated calves.
• One stick-out draft was 60 head of steers weighing 608 lbs which sold for $452/cwt.

Video auction: Good demand on moderate supply
Demand was good on a moderate supply for this video auction held in conjunction with ORS' feeder cattle sale. Total receipts were 368 head. All cattle offered are in Arkansas and Missouri. All deliveries are current through June 16, which are cattle that will be delivered up to 14 days from the video sale date.
