WEST PLAINS, MO., Jun 10, 2026 — Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $2 lower Wednesday at the Ozarks Regional Stockyards. Demand was good on a heavy supply of replacement cattle and a moderate supply of slaughter animals. There were several herd sell-outs with replacements outnumbering slaughter animals by more than 2-1.
Parts of the area saw some good rains over the weekend with other areas seeing little or none. Producers have been busy in the hay fields if weather permits with most reporting the quality and quantity of hay below normal. Total receipts were 891 head.
Top Prices of the Day
• The top slaughter bull sold for $248/cwt.
• The top slaughter cow sold for $190/cwt.
• On the replacement side, the top pairs were 20 pairs of black cows in the 1st stage with 400 lb. calves by their side which sold for $6,550/pair.
• The top bred cows were 24 head of black cows in the 2nd/3rd stage which sold for $4,900/head.
Pricing Averages Snapshot
• Breaker Cows (75-80% dressing): Averaged $176.98/cwt.
• Boner Cows (80-85% dressing): Averaged $174.95/cwt.
• Lean Cows (85-90% dressing): Averaged $159.12/cwt.
• Slaughter Bulls (Yield Grade 1-2): Averaged $211.49/cwt.
Steady to weak undertones amid very light feeder supply
Compared to last week, there were too few calves across all weight ranges for an adequate comparison at Tuesday’s feeder cattle sale, however undertones were steady to weak. Demand was moderate on a very light supply. Muddy conditions in some areas and excessive heat and humidity in all areas kept receipts lighter than usual. Total receipts were 870 head.
Market Highlights
The offering had only 11 drafts of 10 head or more with the largest draft of the day being 17 head. For the first time the video auction total of 1,146 head exceeded the number of head through the ring.

Heavy video auction supply outpaces live ring sales
Demand was good on a heavy supply for this Video Auction held in conjunction with ORS' regular feeder cattle sale. Total receipts were 1,146 head. All cattle offered are in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. All deliveries are current through June 30, meaning cattle will be delivered up to 14 days from the video sale date.

• One stick-out draft on the video auction was 513 head of 910 lb. steers which sold for $338.25/cwt.
• South Central Steers (M&L 1, 635 lbs avg): Current delivery sold for $439/cwt.
• South Central Heifers (M&L 1, 630 lbs avg): Current delivery sold for $381/cwt.
• Southeast Steers (M&L 1, 911 lbs avg): June delivery averaged $337.87/cwt.
• Southeast Steers (M&L 1-2, 880 lbs avg): Current delivery averaged $333.74/cwt.
• South Central Bred Cows (M&L 1-2, 1400 lbs avg): Current delivery sold for $3,585/head.
