Chamber Caddyshack tournament winners named

The annual Greater West Plains Area Chamber of Commerce Caddyshack Classic Golf
Tournament drew players to the West Plains Country Club on Friday for a day of competition,
camaraderie and fundraising.
The shotgun-style tournament featured giveaway prizes and a chance to win a 2025 Spartan
RZ-HD Zero Turn mower from Mega Motorsports in a hole-in-one contest. While no golfer
claimed the mower this year, the event successfully raised funds to supplement member dues,
fund chamber programs, enhance member benefits, support economic development initiatives
and foster community partnership events, said organizers.
In tournament action, the team of Jonathan Smith, Mike Clark and Justin Nelson captured first
place in the Championship Flight. Zack Lashley, Dennis Johnson and Michael Lunsford took
second, while the team of Tyler Joyce, Joey Block and Matt Wernsing finished third.
In Flight A, Jerry Walker, Scott Corman and Randy McGinnis secured first place. They were
followed by Ron Grennan, Kim Grennan and Kanon Robinson in second, and Greg Beykirch,
Garrett Antoine and Dave Thomas in third.
Flight B honors went to the first-place team of John Thomason, Harlan Hutchinson and Gary
Taylor. Dale Englebrecht, Thom Sheridan and John Grisham took second, with Will Jett, Dennis
Walton and Greg Weeks placing third.
Individual contest winners included Matt Wernsing and Mindy Trail, who won the Butler Heating
& Air longest drive competition. Ian Bergman and Taynia Kisner won the Community First
Banking Company closest to the pin contest, and Dave Thomas and Whitney Mills took home
the J’s Razorback BBQ & Catering longest putt honors.
A "Shake of the Day" activity, sponsored by Great Rivers Distributing, raised an additional $470
for the Chamber Foundation to support community initiatives.
Chamber Director Jessica Collins expressed her gratitude to the volunteers who made the event
possible, including Ann Marie Newberry, Bryan Adcock, Justin and Louise Jones, Amy Thomas,
John Neisen, Karen Eggert, Judy Ingalsbe, Pam Topliff, Melody Hubbell, Cynthia Hagler, Joanne
White and Jennifer Dryer.
"Thank you to our sponsors and players," Collins said. "Your support fuels the chamber’s ability

to drive economic growth and invest in vital community development initiatives."
Players kicked off the tournament with a lunch powered by Burton Creek Rural Clinic, Davidson
Insurance, Inszone Insurance Services, Hirsch Feed & Farm Supply of West Plains, Ozarks
Healthcare and Perennial Energy. West Plains Bank & Trust Company sponsored the driving
range and putting green, while Southern Bank and Ozarks Coca-Cola provided beverages. Late
afternoon appetizers were provided by Central Trust Company and Jones Eye Center. Grand
hole sponsors included Adams Construction Company and Hardee’s of West Plains.
Collins also thanked the many chamber members who sponsored holes and donated gift bags
and prizes.
