Two Willow Springs residents suffered minor injuries in a collision involving an emergency vehicle at 3:58 p.m. Monday at the intersection of North U.S. 63 and a commuter parking lot in Cabool, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. T.L. Sullivan, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a southbound 2024 Kia Carnival driven by a 38-year-old man from Willow Springs attempted to pass a 2019 Dodge Durango while its emergency lights were activated. The driver of the Dodge then attempted to make a U-turn.

The driver of the Kia and his passenger, a 43-year-old Willow Springs woman, both wore seat belts. They were taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston for treatment, the report shows.

No injuries were reported for the driver of the Dodge, who was not wearing a seat belt. Sullivan was assisted at the scene by Msgt. R.D. Vaughan.

A 24-year-old West Plains woman suffered minor injuries when her vehicle struck a deer at 8:50 p.m. Sunday in Ozark County.

Tpr. G.L. Plummer reported the woman was westbound on West U.S. 160, 8 miles east of Gainesville, when her 2017 Jeep Cherokee collided with the animal.

The driver was wearing a seat belt and was taken by private vehicle to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment, the report shows.
