County commission to discuss VOCA grant
The Howell County Commission will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the commission room on the second floor of the Howell County Office Building, 35 Court Square in West Plains.
The tentative agenda includes a meeting with the prosecuting attorney’s office regarding a Victims of Crime Act grant, approval of accounts payable and recognition of guests.
The commission typically meets each Monday and Thursday. The public is welcome.
St. Joseph Cemetery Association meets Monday
The St. Joseph Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the parish hall at White Church.
One director will be elected.
Dern retirement reception planned
A retirement reception for Junction Hill Superintendent John Dern will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 20 at Junction Hill School.
The community is invited to the drop-in event to celebrate Dern’s 16 years of service to the district. Light refreshments will be served. For questions, contact Kathleen Cahoj at 417-256-4265.
WP VFW Auxiliary Institution set for April 23
The John T. Kirk VFW Auxiliary will hold its institution ceremony at 6 p.m. April 23 at the post home, 1401 Bill Virdon Blvd.
The auxiliary is still accepting new members. Those interested in joining should bring a soldier's DD-214 or other proof of overseas service to the post to establish eligibility.
