Howell County Commission to meet Monday
The Howell County Commission will hold a meeting at 10 a.m. Monday in the second-floor conference room of the Howell County Office Building, 35 Court Square in West Plains.
Tentative agenda items include approving accounts payable and recognizing visiting guests who appear before the commission.
Commissioners typically meet Mondays and Thursdays. The public is welcome.
Richards School Board sets tax hearing, regular meeting
The Richards School Board of Education will meet Thursday in the boardroom at the school, 3461 County Road 1710 in West Plains.
A public tax rate hearing will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the regular board meeting at 6:10 p.m. Tentative agenda items include administrative reports, approval of bus routes and substitute teachers, adoption of a conflict of interest notice, approval of the annual Secretary of the Board Report and an executive session to discuss legal and personnel matters.
The public is welcome to attend.
WPRAS grand opening scheduled for Aug. 22
The West Plains Regional Animal Shelter will showcase its new building during a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 22 at1486 BB Highway in West Plains.
The event will feature half-price adoption fees for spayed or neutered animals, a barbecue, door prizes and a drawing for a Glenfield rifle. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
