Applications open for Good Neighbor Ambassadors
University of Missouri Extension and Missouri Good Neighbor Week are seeking volunteers to join the new Missouri Good Neighbor Week Ambassador Network.
The initiative aims to build stronger communities by encouraging residents to practice and report intentional acts of neighboring throughout the year. Ambassadors log their activities through an online portal, share local success stories and promote community connection.
"You don't need to be an official, you don't need to lead an organization and you don't need to plan a major event," said founder David Burton. "You simply need a desire to connect with the people around you."
In exchange, participants receive access to training videos, event materials and future mini-grant eligibility. Missouri Good Neighbor Week will be observed Sept. 28 through Oct. 4, with a goal of documenting 50,000 acts of neighboring statewide this year.
Applying is free and open to all Missouri residents at missourigoodneighborweek.com.
