The Harlin Museum recently concluded its annual photography show with a reception and awards ceremony recognizing regional photographers and their work.

According to museum board President Cleo Cockrum, the exhibition featured a wide variety of entries, making the judging process especially competitive this year.

Crystal Pinson of Alton earned Best of Show honors for her photograph “Tree with Sky.” Pinson also received second place for “Longhorn Cow,” third place for “Black Bird” and an honorable mention for “Fall Tree.”

Christina Bontrager of West Plains earned first place for her color photograph titled “Orville.” Additional honorable mentions went to Shelby Cooper of Birch Tree for “No Play Day” and Rowen Carson of Willow Springs for “Deer.” Carson also received the People’s Choice Award for the photograph “Volkswagon.”

Cockrum said the competition was judged using scores from two independent judges unaffiliated with the museum, with final results determined by averaging the scores.

The annual exhibit showcases local and regional photography and highlights artistic talent from across the area.
