Howell County fire departments receive equipment donation

Howell County Rural Volunteer Fire Department personnel Dan Dennis, Chief Joe Auffert and Tiffany Dugan with a recent donation of fire protection equipment. The gear was donated to local rural volunteer fire departments by the Win-Bur-Sew Fire Protection District in Winnebago, Illinois, led by Chief Charles Cunningham. Pottersville resident Karen Smith, sister-in-law of Pecatonica Fire Protection District Chief Gary Larrow, transported the items from Illinois for distribution throughout Howell County. The cross-state donation highlights the strong teamwork among fire departments and is intended to help local volunteer crews continue protecting rural communities with limited resources.
