Arby’s, 1342 Southern Hills, West Plains, inspected Dec. 14. Two violations: observed cabinet area by the soda fountain in the front of the store, floor, shelving and drain in need of cleaning, and air vents in prep area needing dust removal. The first issue would be corrected as soon as time allowed, and the second would be addressed as soon as possible.

Auntie Anne’s Mobile food truck, Olden Street, West Plains, inspected Nov. 16. No violations.

Dennis’ Specialty Cuts, 911 Preacher Roe Blvd., West Plains, inspected Dec. 14. Three violations: food employees must wear hair and/or beard coverings and clothing that covers body hair, paper towels were needed in the employee restroom and prep area flooring was in need of repair and must be made smooth and easily cleanable. A reinspection date is scheduled for Jan. 13 for the first issue. The second was corrected on site, and the third will be corrected.

Dev’s Piano Bar and Lounge, 36 Court Square, West Plains, inspected for preopening Nov. 30. Reinspection planned prior to opening, but the business is approved to open. No violations noted.

Dollar Tree, 1405 Preacher Roe Blvd., West Plains, inspected Dec. 13. Two violations: Food boxes were seen stored on the floor in the walk-in freezer, put it at risk of contamination, and ceiling tiles in the middle of the store were in need of replacement due to water damage. The first issue was corrected on site, and a reinspection is scheduled for Jan. 12 for the second issue.

El Charro, 1409 Mitchell Road, West Plains, inspected Dec. 14. Four violations: hair restraints were not being worn by all food preparation staff; sodas were seen stored in ice meant to use in beverages; food meant to be held cold was in coolers with temperatures between 47 and 50 degrees, warmer than the maximum of 41 degrees; and the ice machine and vent hood were in need of cleaning. The first two issues were corrected onsite, the third issue will be monitored and corrected and the equipment cleaning would be done within two weeks.

Eleven Point Cafe, 206 E. Main St., Willow Springs, inspected Dec. 12. Two violations: Observed food thawed in standing water, instead of cool, running water, and there were no paper towels in the employee restroom. Both issues corrected on site.

Family Dollar/Dollar Tree, 508 Main St., Willow Springs, inspected Dec. 11. One violation: Back storage area was in need of cleaning and organizing. The issue would be corrected that night.

G & W Foods, 204 N. Ferguson St., Willow Springs, inspected Dec. 12. Four violations: Meat products and baby food were observed for sale past their use-by date, the employee hand washing sink in the produce area was inaccessible, unshielded light bulbs were seen in the meat department cutting room and dairy cooler shelving was seen in need of painting or replacement to keep them easily cleanable. The first two items were corrected onsite, the caps and shields will be put on all lights in the meat department and the shelving must be addressed by May 1, 2024.

Hibby’s Sports Grille, 1729 U.S. 160, West Plains, inspected Dec. 14. Three violations: observed thawing of frozen product at room temperature, prep line cooler temperatures measured above the maximum of 41 degrees and there were no paper towels at the prep area hand sink. The first issue was corrected onsite and the other two must be corrected by Jan. 13.

JB’s Healthmart, 1504 Preacher Roe Blvd., West Plains, inspected Dec. 14. No violations.

KFC, 1301 Southern Hills Center, West Plains, inspected Dec. 14 with follow-up inspection scheduled for March 13, 2024. Five violations: The handle of the back door was seen to be missing, exposing the back of the store to the outdoors; the walk-in freezer floor is in need of repair to make it smooth and easy to clean; shelving in the chicken cooler was seen to be in need of deep-cleaning due to food debris; cabinets were observed to be broken and not smooth and easily cleanable, the front counter was seen to be not smooth and easily cleanable and the wall area at the service area was in need of repairs to make it smooth and easily cleanable; and unnecessary items were seen stored outside the back door and in need of removal. A deadline of Jan. 13 has been set to correct all issues.

Mason’s Midwest Meats, 1405 Southern Hills Shopping Center, inspected Dec. 13. Two violations: display cooler at 44 degrees, above maximum of 41 degrees, and cleaning needed on display cases and door tracks due to food debris buildup. The first issue was corrected onsite and the second will be addressed as time allows.

McDonald’s No. 1, 1315 Preacher Roe Blvd., inspected Dec. 13. Three violations: A thermometer was not available in all coolers; the beef patty cooler measured 50 degrees, above the maximum of 41 degrees; and cleaning was needed in the area of the front soda fountain and cabinet. All three issues must be addressed before reinspection on Jan. 12.

West Plains Senior Center, 416 E. Main St., West Plains, inspected Nov. 30. Two violations: The faucet for the three-vat sink used for dishwashing was seen leaking and need of repair, and a pantry wall with water damage at its bottom was in need of repair. The first issue must be corrected by Dec. 30, and the second, by March 11, 2024.
