Kellie Mayers appointed to role of WP city clerk

Posted

West Plains City officials this week announced the appointment of Kellie Mayers as the city clerk, effective immediately. The City council approved the appointment in the closed session during Tuesday’s city council meeting.

Mayers, a West Plains native, previously served the city in the role of human resources specialist. During her time with the city, she has served as head of the safety committee and the employee advisory committee.

“I look forward to serving the citizens in a different capacity while still working for the same wonderful organization,” said Mayers. “I work with an amazingly talented and smart team who care about the betterment of the community and its citizens.”

Mayers received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Missouri State University. She was recently accepted into the inaugural Greater West Plains Area Chamber of Commerce L.E.A.D. program.

In her spare time, Mayers can be found volunteering at His Place Christian Academy, spending time with her daughter, or on the golf course.

“Kellie exemplifies our organizational values and she really stepped up during these past two months by handling the duties of the city clerk's office in addition to her regular full-time responsibilities, so in my eyes she's earned the position and I'm excited to work with her in this new role,” said City Administrator Sam Anselm.

Mayers can be reached at kellie.mayers@westplains.gov.
