Missouri’s real estate market continued to see steady growth in sales prices and total dollar volume in May, according to a new report from Missouri Realtors.
The association’s May 2026 Market Statistics Report indicates 7,223 residential properties were sold across the state during the month.
Prices maintained an upward trajectory. The median sales price for a home in Missouri reached $299,900, a 7.1% increase compared to May 2025. The average residential sale price also saw a notable boost, climbing 5.8% to $354,343.
Total dollar volume for the month saw solid gains, increasing 4.5% compared to the previous year and jumping 12.2% compared to April. The market generated more than $2.5 billion in May, up from $2.2 billion in the previous month.
The report also tracked data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The average 30-year fixed mortgage interest rate for May was 6.53%. Rates have dipped slightly since then, sitting at 6.49% as of June 25.
