MoDOT invites requests for public meeting on Texas Co. bridge projects

Posted

The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to improve four bridges in Texas County, officials announce: Three bridges on Highway 137 will be replaced, and the Highway 17 bridge over Roubidoux Creek will be rehabilitated.

The bridges on Highway 137 to be replaced include one over Pine Creek, north of County Road 3780; one over Big Creek between Boster Road and Big Creek Road; and one over South Prong Jacks Fork between U and AZ highways.

Construction to replace the bridges could begin as early as spring 2025, said officials. The highway will be closed in the vicinity of each bridge for about three months during this time.

The Highway 17 bridge over Roubidoux Creek is located near the Laclede/Pulaski county line. The project includes replacing the bridge deck. Construction for that bridge could also begin as early as spring 2025, said officials. During this time, the highway will be closed in the area of the bridge for about 45 days.

Maps, plans and other information prepared by MoDOT, or an interested agency, will be available for public inspection and copying at the MoDOT Regional Office, 3956 E. Main St., Willow Springs.

Anyone affected by these projects may request that a public meeting be held in regard to the proposed improvements.
