Proverbs 31:8-9: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice."
A very interesting encounter happened today when a lady questioned whether I "believe in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ," simply because I demand justice and accountability at the highest levels of society without any respect to office, title or party affiliation!
My answer to the upset individual was this: "Yes, I absolutely believe in Jesus Christ — the king of all kings and soon-coming judge ... as well as also believing in justice, righteousness, holiness, accountability, advocacy for the defenseless, for helpless children, for widows, for orphans ... all without respect or deference to any association with a political group! But do you believe that judgment must first begin at God's house ... according to the teachings of St. Peter?” (1 Peter 4:17).
Sadly, no response to my question was forthcoming.
Oh, well ... too many naive, deluded individuals are myopic by assuming that "loyal party membership" automatically means "devoted Christianity." However, nothing is farther from the truth.
During World War II, Hitler ordered German churches to drape their altars with the giant red, white and black National Socialist Party swastika. The congregations that agreed were included as members of the Nazi "Reichskirche." Those that refused to cover their altars with the country's flag were labeled the "Confessing Church" because they only publicly confessed Jesus Christ! In retaliation for "bucking an evil system," their sanctuaries were locked and burned besides having their ministers imprisoned or killed. Sadly, I foresee the very same thing occurring in America to those who exclusively uphold God rather than government.
Furthermore, it's worth noting that "my" Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, warned, "Don't be cruel to any of these little ones! I promise you their angels are always with my Father in heaven” (Matt. 18:10).
Consequently, men elected to serve the people's interest in high positions should be the advocates of children seeking justice for criminal abuse by rich, powerful, old men from both parties ... rather than doing their best to thwart any and all investigations into the wretched abominations. Now, if my militancy regarding the misappropriation of justice for helpless individuals makes me seem unchristian because I condemn all political parties ... then so be it! You'll just have to pucker up and get over your pout because God's Holy Word says, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice” (Prov. 31:8-9).
So, today, if you're waiting for me to either equate "loyal Republican" or "loyal Democrat" with "faithful Christian," you better bring a snack because you're going to be waiting awhile!
