Newberry Sales donates fire pit for cystic fibrosis auction Saturday
Newberry Sales has donated a cast iron hanging fire pit with a Kansas City Chiefs logo cutout to be sold during a live auction at the 36th annual cystic fibrosis fundraising concert on Saturday. Proceeds will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis of West Plains for research into treatments and a future cure for the disease. The fire pit was made by Newberry Sales employee Mike Pankey, and features a grate for cooking use. Silent auction items will be set up when the event begins at 5 p.m., and the live auction will begin at about 6:30. The performance, by country artist Sara Evans, will begin at about 7 p.m. It is at the West Plains Civic Center, 110 St. Louis St. Tickets for adults are $30 in advance or $40 at the door, and $5 for children age 12 and younger regardless of when purchased.
