City officials have announced that portions of Washington Avenue will be closed Thursday night for emergency utility and street repairs.
Beginning at 9 p.m., Washington Avenue will be closed for two blocks, from Court Square to Trish Knight Street, while crews from the Utilities and Street Departments repair a leak. Once the repair is complete, crews will apply an asphalt patch to the affected area.
Officials expect the street to be reopened and ready for regular business by Friday morning.
