The eye dims

Ears collect less

Touch dulled

As does taste

Balance falters

Along with reason

My hourglass has no sand

Hands can't hold

Memory fades

Pain is constant

With confusion

To decide is difficult

Nothing is easy

Except doing nothing

Time takes too long

Like healing

A little is too much

More is less also

Slight of hand is

Slow of hand

A mix of magic

Bubbles away

The Keeper has quit

To another time and world

There's no anchor

No solid ground

No seed to plant or grow

Support has dry rot

No cover available

Alone not a choice

Just reality....

Cards to play in a game

With no rules

You want to fold

Not allowed

You don't pick the

Players either

And they have been here

A long time

A stacked deck

Against you too

Don't have a prayer

But must play

That's life and also

That it is UNFAIR

Pray or curse

Shuffle and deal

You cannot forfeit

Can't lose and leave early

Forget the sum of your parts

And bid and play like you know

Join the masses knowing

Nothing just like you

Try to recall wisdom

From Mom and Dad

Or anything else

While in the thick

No pause to think or plan

Not one to tap you

On what to play when

Bid high to call trump

Going set is common

Smile anyway

Enjoy the few moments

When you still might win

Against odds they don't

Want you to know...

Playing blind is part

Of the fun they say

They lie... a lot

Unlike you they don't

Suffer the loss

What you can't afford

What you are tempted to do

Simply not allowed

Not possible

How long to play ?

Until death

And you don't want

To go sober...
