The Alton Culture Club will host the Oregon County Patriotic Pageant at 5 p.m. June 20 at Alton High School. The event, organized in celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary, is hosted by the club, which is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of America.
Twenty-five candidates from across the county are registered to compete in four contests: Miss Sparkler, Miss Firecracker, Miss Liberty Bell and Miss Oregon County. During the afternoon, the contestants will be interviewed by a panel of five judges who are also from throughout the county.
