Ozarks Healthcare will host three "Senior Solutions Hour" community events this month to help area senior citizens prepare for the upcoming Medicare Annual Open Enrollment period, navigate digital medical records and receive seasonal flu vaccinations.
The interactive sessions will provide hands-on tutorials to assist seniors in creating and managing accounts on the OZH Patient Portal. The online platform enables patients to schedule appointments, communicate directly with their care team and access personal health records. Staff will also offer guidance to help attendees better evaluate Medicare coverage options.
In addition, pharmacy staff will administer flu vaccinations at each event. Cash and insurance will be accepted.
"Healthcare can be complicated, and we want to make it easier for our patients to access the information and resources they need," said OZH President and CEO Terence Farrell. "The Patient Portal puts important healthcare information at patients' fingertips."
Sessions are scheduled at the following West Plains locations:
•Oct. 12, 9 to 10 a.m.: Ozarks Healthcare Main Entrance, 1100 Kentucky Ave.
•Oct. 13, 11 a.m. to noon: West Plains Public Library Community Room, 750 W. Broadway St.
•Oct. 15, 2 to 3 p.m.: West Plains First Baptist Church Annex, 202 Walnut St.
