Quill offers special yard sale, graduation promotions

The West Plains Spring City-Wide Yard Sale is scheduled for April 16 through 18.
Residents can place an ad for $20, which includes publication in the West Plains Daily Quill,
Baxter Bulletin, Harrison Daily Times and Newton County Times, as well as on the Quill
Facebook page. Each ad also comes with a free yard sale sign courtesy of the Quill.
The deadline to place an ad is 4 p.m. Friday. For more information, call 417-256-9191 or stop by
the Quill office at 205 Washington Ave.
In addition, the Quill is now accepting advertisements for the Class of 2026 Graduation
Keepsake Book, which will be published May 2.
The deadline for advertising is April 17. To celebrate a 2026 graduate, contact Vicky or Durreall

WP Guidebooks now available
The 2026 Explore West Plains guidebook is now available, featuring a complete redesign and
120 pages of local attractions, historical features and self-guided tours. New additions include a
downtown walking tour of more than 50 buildings and expanded day-trip routes to area mills and
springs.
The free guides are available at the Ozark Heritage Welcome Center, 2999 Porter Wagoner
Blvd., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, and at numerous local businesses and hotels. A digital
version is available at explorewestplains.com.

Commission to issue proclamation
The Howell County Commission will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the commission room on the
second floor of the county office building, 35 Court Square. The tentative agenda includes an 11
a.m. approval of a Sexual Assault Awareness Proclamation, approval of accounts payable and
recognition of guests.
The commission typically meets each Monday and Thursday. The public is welcome. For more

Richards announces summer school dates
Summer school at Richards R-5 School District is scheduled to begin May 4 and run through
May 22. Classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays. For more information regarding
enrollment or schedules, contact the school office at 417-256-5239.
