Registration is open for the 2026 I Ran From the Cops 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk, sponsored by the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Willow Springs Police Department.
The event will be held Sept. 12, at Palenske Field in Willow Springs. The race will begin at 8 a.m., with check-in starting at 7 a.m.
Now in its fourth year, the event brings together runners, walkers, families and supporters for a morning of fitness and community involvement. Proceeds support the Willow Springs Police Department and the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Registration is $30 per participant, or $40 for participants who want an official event T-shirt. To guarantee a shirt, registration must be completed by Aug. 28. Registration will remain open after that date, but shirts are not guaranteed.
The event includes a 5K race with overall and age division awards, a 1-mile walk and a free 1-mile fun run for children 10 and younger.
“This event continues to grow each year because it’s such a unique way for our community to come together,” said Kim McCormick, executive director of the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce. “We love seeing families, competitive runners, first-time participants and our local officers all enjoying the morning together. We encourage everyone to register and be part of another great year.”
Local businesses and organizations may also sponsor the event by contacting the chamber.
