13-year-old hurt in UTV crash

A 13-year-old West Plains girl was airlifted to a Springfield hospital after a utility vehicle crash Friday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. N.G. Britt  with Troop G in Willow Springs reported the crash happened at 10:40 a.m. on County Road 8840, 2 miles south of West Plains in Howell County. A westbound 2021 Coleman UTV reportedly made a left turn, began sliding and overturned.

No injuries were reported for the 14-year-old girl driving the vehicle, but her passenger was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries, the report shows.

The patrol reported neither child was wearing a seat belt.    

 

Pickup truck rollover injures driver

A 67-year-old man from Willow Springs suffered minor injuries in a rollover crash at 5:15 p.m. Sunday on Highway 137, three miles north of Willow Springs.

Tpr. S.A. Swink reported the man’s northbound 1990 Chevrolet GMT 400 ran off the right side of the road, where it struck a culvert and overturned.

The driver, who wore a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains.

Swing was assisted at the scene by Willow Springs police and Tpr. L.J. Combs.

 

West Plains man hurt Saturday

A 52-year-old man from West Plains was injured in a crash at 7:50 p.m. Saturday on Highway 101, a half-mile south of Bakersfield in Ozark County.

Cpl. D.J. Johnson reported the man drove a northbound 2011 Ford Focus which ran off the road, struck a fence, went down an embankment and struck a tree.

The driver was wearing a seat belt and he was taken by South Howell County Ambulance to Baxter Health in Mtn. Home, Ark., for treatment of minor injuries, the report shows.

 

Serious injuries reported for Ark. motorcyclist

A Mtn. Home man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash in northwestern Missouri.

Tpr. B.D. Hahn with Troop H of the patrol, St. Joseph, reported the crash happened at 10:30 p.m. March 30 on Highway 116 at U.S. 69, 10 miles west of Polo in Clinton County.  An eastbound 2023 Tao Tao motorcycle reportedly struck a roundabout’s curb and came to rest on its side. 

The 46-year-old rider was not wearing a helmet and was taken by a private party to Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron, the report shows.

 

Pair of drivers hurt in dump truck collision

Back in Troop G, two people were hurt when a dump truck collided with an SUV at 7:45 a.m. March 30 on J Highway, south of T Highway in Ozark County.

Tpr. G.L. Plummer reported a northbound 2022 Mack Granite truck ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and struck an oncoming 2025 Toyota RAV4 before overturning.

Both drivers suffered moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to Baxter Health, the report shows. The 42-year-old man from Mtn. Home who drove the dump truck reportedly did not wear a seat belt; the RAV4’s driver, a 54 year-old woman from Gainesville, wore hers.
