Roots are critically important to a tree. The roots anchor it and make it steady. How else could something so large and so tall grow upward toward the sky? Water and necessary minerals are absorbed through the roots, thus making it possible for the tree to grow and to thrive.
We, too, need roots so we may receive necessary resources, so we may be anchored and steadied. When we are rooted in Jesus Christ himself, these are possible.
We don’t just admire Jesus and think positive thoughts about him. As believers, our lives are anchored and sustained by being rooted in him.
In Col. 2:6-7 we read, “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”
Read and learn from the Bible, pray and be “rooted and built up in him,” Christ our Lord and Savior.
May God bless your week!
