Monday is the deadline to enter and vote in the West Plains Daily Quill’s Copy Cats, Doggy Doubles photo contest, presented by All Pet & Equine Supply of West Plains.
Area pet owners are invited to submit side-by-side photos with their pets for a chance to win prizes, including admission tickets to the St. Louis Renaissance Festival, gift certificates and Quill subscriptions. Entries and daily voting are available online at westplainsdailyquill.net/contest. Photos will be featured in a special print showcase in the Oct. 3 edition of the Quill.
The Howell County Commission will review bids for hot mix overlay application on portions of County Road 8150 during its open session at 10 a.m. Monday. Bids were originally opened on Sept. 10.
The meeting will be held in the conference room on the second floor of the county office building, 35 Court Square in West Plains. Commissioners will also review accounts payable and recognize guests. The commission meets regularly on Mondays and Thursdays, and meetings are open to the public.
United Federated Republican Women will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Ozarks Brewing Company, 1872 S. U.S. 63 in West Plains. Guest speaker Devan Daniels, a podcaster and Jefferson City lobbyist, will discuss lobbying efforts in state government.
The group meets on the first Thursday of each month, and all interested members of the public are welcome to attend.
