The West Plains Kiwanis Club awarded five scholarships totaling $4,000 to members of the 2026 West Plains High School graduating class. Recipients, from left, are Zoe Shrubb, Jerry Harper, Kirsten Fish, Zoe Scharnhorst and Dianna Brewer. Club member Ron Grennan reported the club had doubled its scholarship fund this year to $3,000, but after receiving more than 30 applications, members voted during a meeting to increase the total to $4,000. The club awarded three $1,000 scholarships and two $500 scholarships. The West Plains Kiwanis Club provides scholarships each year for West Plains High School students. Recipients may use the funds for tuition, fees or campus housing for any course of study leading to an academic degree at an accredited college or university. With the scholarship recipients at left is Kiwanian Travis Smith, who presented the awards during the annual West Plains High School awards assembly.
