A pedestrian from West Plains suffered moderate injuries when he was struck by an SUV at 10:19 a.m. Monday on ZZ Highway, a mile east of West Plains, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Cpl. J.D. Wheeler, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a 43-year-old man standing in the road was struck by a southbound 2013 GMC Yukon driven by a 55-year-old West Plains woman.
The pedestrian was taken by South Howell County Ambulance for treatment, the report shows. The hospital destination was not reported.
No injuries were reported for the driver of the Yukon or her passenger, a 21-year-old man, both of whom were wearing seat belts.
Mtn. Grove teen seriously injured in rollover crash
A 19-year-old man from Mtn. Grove suffered serious injuries when he was thrown from his pickup truck in a rollover crash at 12:15 p.m. Monday on Highway 95, 3 miles north of Mtn. Grove in Wright County.
Tpr. Z.B. Tate reported the driver was northbound in his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, skidded across the road sideways, ran off the left side of the road and overturned.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was flown by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, the report shows; His passenger, a 32-year-old man from Mtn. Grove, was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. He was reportedly taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment.
Tate was assisted at the scene by Msgt. R.D. Vaughan, the Wright County Sheriff’s Department and the Mtn. Grove Police Department.
Summersville man hurt in crash with tree
A 31-year-old Summersville man suffered minor injuries when his vehicle collided with a tree at 7:40 a.m. Thursday on East U.S. 60, 3 miles west of Birch Tree in Shannon County.
Tpr. S.T. Duggins reported an eastbound 2009 Toyota Highlander driven by the man ran off the left side of the road into the tree.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare, the report shows. Duggins was assisted at the scene by Tpr. N.G. Britt.
Shannon County UTV crash injures 2
A Thayer resident was involved in a collision with a side-by-side at 11:10 a.m. Saturday in Shannon County, resulting in injuries to two Centerville residents.
Tpr. Duggins reported a southbound 2019 Ford Escape driven by a 39-year-old Thayer woman crossed the center line on H Highway and struck an oncoming 2026 Can-Am Maverick RS utility vehicle, causing it to overturn.
The 21-year-old man driving the UTV was flown by Air Evac to an unspecified hospital in St. Louis for treatment, the report shows. A 25-year-old female passenger in the UTV was taken by Mercy EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment. Safety device use for the occupants of the UTV is unknown.
No injuries were reported for the driver of the Ford, who was wearing a seat belt.
