The Willow Springs Lions Club will host its 45th annual Father's Day golf tournament fundraiser
June 20 and 21, at the Thomas F. Benyo Municipal Golf Course.
The event will feature a two-person scramble format, with tee times available at 8:30 a.m. and
1:30 p.m. each day. The total number of flights will be determined by the number of team
entries.
Each flight will feature cash payouts, awarding $800 for first place, $500 for second place, $250
for third place and $150 for fourth place.
The entry fee is $180 per team when paid in advance. Golfers can enter by calling Robert Hollis
Shelter Insurance at 417-469-2881 or stopping by the office at 200 W. Main St. in Willow
Springs.
As a longstanding community tradition and one of the club's most important fundraisers of the
year, the tournament directly supports programs for families in Willow Springs and the
surrounding area. Funds raised remain in the community and benefit organizations such as
Mighty Mite youth football and cheerleading, the school backpack food program and the
community's annual Easter egg hunt at Booster Field.
Tournament proceeds also support the Lions Club's signature KidSight program, providing free
vision screenings and first pairs of eyeglasses for children ages 1 to 18. Additionally, the club
funds vision assistance for adults facing financial hardships, a large-print book program for
visually impaired readers and two scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
To support these initiatives, the Lions Club is actively seeking local business sponsors across
four tiers ranging from $100 to $1,000.
Sponsorship payments should be submitted by May 30. Any sponsorships received after May 31
will not be included in the player programs or local newspaper advertisements. Checks should
be made payable to the Willow Springs Lions Club and mailed to P.O. Box 87, Willow Springs,
MO 65793.
