Mike Edward John Scranlin, Birch Tree, was ticketed at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 21 on a charge of stealing. Officer Joby Hoopes.

Michael Wayne Scarbrough, Willow Springs, was ticketed at 10:49 p.m. Dec. 22 on a charge of driving a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility. Officer Paden Turnbull.

Michael Ray Clinton, Raymondville, was ticketed at 11:04 a.m. Dec. 26 on a charge of assault. Officer Joe Barnhouse.

Brandy Lea Venn, West Plains, was ticketed at 11:13 a.m. Dec. 26 on a charge of assault. Officer Barnhouse.

Jonathan Jay Barnard, Pottersville, was ticketed at 7:20 p.m. Dec. 26 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph. Officer David Hocking.

Elijah Jeffery Beers, Cameron, was ticketed at 9:09 a.m. Dec. 28 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph. Officer Cary Gates.

Philip Waid DiMarco, Willow Springs, was ticketed at 9:57 a.m. Dec. 28 on charges of driving while revoked or suspended and driving a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility. Chief Wes Ellison.

David William Spieker, Massena, Iowa, was ticketed at 5:14 p.m. Dec. 28 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph. Officer Gates.

Kelby Dean Hutsler, West Plains, was ticketed at 3:08 p.m. Dec. 29 on a charge of failure to register vehicle. Officer Gates.

Isaiah Ashton Deshazo, West Plains, was ticketed at 3:22 p.m. Dec. 29 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph. Officer Gates.

Brylea Hope Parks, Jackson, was ticketed at 5:05 p.m. Dec. 30 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph. Officer Gates.

Eric William Ely, Willow Springs, was ticketed at 5:37 a.m. Jan. 1 on a charge of driving a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility.

Joseph Raymond Chaffee, Roswell, Ga., was ticketed at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph. Officer Gates.

INCIDENT REPORTS

At 2:28 p.m. Dec. 21, Dollar General reported a person had stolen beer from the store. The person was located, trespassed and ticketed on a charge of stealing. Officer Hoopes.

Officer Barnhouse took a report at 3:29 a.m. Dec. 22 of fuel missing from a vehicle at Love’s Travel Stop. The case is under investigation.

At 8:30 p.m. Dec. 22, a weed eater was found on the side of Sunshine Drive by a resident, who said it appeared as if it had fallen off of a moving vehicle. The resident turned the weed eater into the police department, where it was placed in the lost and found. Officer Jake Cronin.

Officer Cronin was on patrol at 10:21 p.m. Dec. 23 in the area of Industrial Drive and saw a vehicle driving recklessly. He tried to stop the vehicle, but when he activated his emergency lights, the suspect vehicle began to flee, and the driver then lost control. The vehicle went off the road and became inoperable. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Officers Barnhouse and Turnbull assisted. Charges are being sent to the county prosecutor’s office for driving while intoxicated, repeat offense, and driving carelessly and imprudently.

At 9:53 p.m. Dec. 24, Officers Hocking and Barnhouse were approached by a woman at Love’s Travel Stop. She was not speaking clearly, but asked for help. Officers were able to determine she was looking for her husband and possibly showing signs of being in mental crisis. Her husband was found and informed the officers she had been struggling with mental health crises through the day, but he was unsure if she had taken any drugs or medication. When the woman was returned to her husband, she reportedly tried to assault him, began screaming and tried to hurt herself. Officers secured her in order to place her on a 96-hour evaluation hold at Ozarks Healthcare. No charges are pending.

Officers Hocking and Barnhouse received a call at 6:12 p.m. Dec. 25 regarding an intoxicated 19-year-old man who had left a home on North Pine Street in a white Chrysler 300. The driver was found and a traffic stop was conducted, leading to the arrest of the man on charges of DWI, driving without a license, unlawful possession of a weapon and being a minor in possession of liquor. He was taken to the police station and booked. Pending charges are being sent to county prosecutors for review.

At 11:44 a.m. Dec. 26, Chief Ellison and Officers Hocking and Barnhouse responded to the parking lot of Subway for a report of a physical fight between a man and a woman. Both parties were arrested on assault charges, booked, released and ticketed with a municipal court date.

Officer Barnhouse reported at 3:42 p.m. Dec. 27 that on the previous day, he and Officer Hocking encountered a man at Snappy Mart who had an active felony warrant out for his arrest. When they made contact with the man, he flees on foot toward Hill Street. After a short foot pursuit, officers apprehended the man, and he was taken to the Howell County Jail.

At 10:12 a.m. Dec. 28, Chief Ellison reported a man was arrested at 9:57 a.m. after he was found to be driving while suspended on northbound Sunshine Drive.

A resident reported a stolen iPhone 13 at 10:58 a.m. Dec. 29. A report was taken by Officer Hoopes.

At 11:45 a.m. Dec. 30, Officer Hoopes responded to Snappy Mart for a traffic crash on the business property.
