DOCO Inc. Sheltered Workshop in Ava is among four Missouri nonprofits awarded grants through the 2026 Summit Cares Grant Program.
Summit Natural Gas of Missouri and its parent company, Summit Utilities, awarded a combined $20,000 through the program, which supports nonprofits in the company’s service area.
DOCO Inc. provides supportive employment opportunities for people with disabilities in Ava and Douglas County.
Other grant recipients were Lake of the Ozarks Idiots Club, which provides clothing, food, school fees, scholarships and other resources for children in need; Gift of Hope, which serves children and families in Taney County; and Project 360 Youth Services of Lebanon, which supports youth and young adults in crisis through outreach, housing assistance, life-skills development and connections to community resources.

To qualify for a Summit Cares grant, applicants must operate within Summit Natural Gas of Missouri’s service territory and show documentation of 501(c)(3) nonprofit, tax-exempt status. The program prioritizes organizations focused on basic human needs, science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics education, community enrichment and environmental stewardship.
