A unique aquatic arts and wellness event is coming to the West Plains Aquatic in August, blending live music and sound therapy in a zero-gravity environment.
The "Floating Sound Bath" is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 1. The event will feature a collaboration of four sound healing practitioners alongside a live musical performance by a flutist who performs under the stage name "The Flute."
Participating wellness groups and practitioners include Yanhatha Vibrations, Mind Body Soul Alignment, Crystal Mocean and Savanna Sunshine. Volunteers will also be onsite to assist guests.
Organizers state that the water amplifies the sound vibrations, providing participants with deep stress and anxiety relief. Floating in a zero-gravity environment is designed to calm the nervous system, remove pressure on joints, ease muscle tension and increase blood flow.
Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:30 p.m. to check in and sign required waivers before the performance begins. The West Plains Aquatic Center is located at 1136 W. Broadway St.
Tickets are available in three different tiers to accommodate participant preferences:
- $60: Includes a floating twin air mattress provided by the organizers.
- $40: General admission for attendees who bring their own float.
- $25: Admission for those who prefer to experience the music and sound bath from the poolside.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online at square.link/u/iProYNAm?src=sheet.
