Four locals hurt in crashes this week

A West Plains resident suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision at 7:35 a.m. Thursday on east U.S. 160, a mile east of West Plains in Howell County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Justin S. Heath, 29, was the driver of an eastbound 1998 Toyota that rear-ended a 2014 Ford F150 driven by Daniel E. Brown, 64, Poplar Bluff, reported Tpr. C.C. Battreal with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs. The Toyota then ran off the road and into a ditch, the trooper said.

Heath was not wearing a seat belt and was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment, according to the patrol.

Brown was wearing a seat belt, and no injuries were reported for him.

Teresa L. Miller, 55, Ava, was hurt in a rollover crash at 1:45 p.m. Thursday on JJ Highway in Ozark County, 4 miles south of Squires.

Tpr. C.A. Edens reported a southbound 2018 Ford Taurus driven by Miller ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, became airborne and overturned.

She was wearing a seat belt, and was flown by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of serious injuries, according to the patrol.

A Pomona resident suffered moderate injuries in a rollover crash at 7:45 a.m. Monday on County Road 2350, 3 miles south of Pomona in Howell County.
