Willow Springs to host Hannah Harper Day

Willow Springs will host a community-wide celebration for American Idol contestant Hannah Harper on May 6. Harper, a Willow Springs resident, has gained national acclaim on the ABC program, with her original song “String Cheese” currently charting on Apple Music and Billboard.

The day’s festivities, coordinated by the city and Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce, will feature afternoon music downtown and a patriotic parade. Community members are encouraged to enter floats or vehicles decorated in red, white and blue, similar to the annual Fourth of July parade. Participation is limited to licensed drivers.

The celebration concludes with a free 7 p.m. concert at Palenske Field. Due to expected crowds, designated parking and free shuttles will be provided. Those interested in volunteering or sponsoring the event should call Willow Springs City Hall at 417-469-2107. Full schedule details will be published when they are announced.
