‘GO FARM’ FARMER’S MARKET: Market honors Memorial Day with live music, new vendors and breakfast burritos

Posted

Remember this is Memorial Day weekend, a holiday that serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who gave their lives for our country. Americans are encouraged to consider the cost of freedom and the bravery of military personnel. In the U.S., we have a tradition of using red poppies on Memorial Day to symbolize remembrance and the blood of fallen soldiers.

New and Returning Vendors

Our newest vendor Geniva Brooks, owner of Hog Wild Embroidery Designs, will be offering red poppy tea and dish towels among other Patriotic embroidered items.

We are in for a real treat this weekend: The Masters Ranch Christian Academy youth band, featuring musicians aged 15 to 17, will be playing during market hours.

We have plenty of flowers, hanging baskets, herbs and more. Many vendors will have Memorial Day specials of all kinds!

Food Court Highlights

Julia at Tamales To Go has added new food items for shoppers: breakfast burritos featuring steak and potatoes or chorizo and potatoes. She continues to offer her authentic Mexican pork and chicken tamales and aguas frescas.

Grassy Hill Farms returns with authentic Filipino pork adobo, steamed buns and egg rolls, with more items added weekly. JLP Catering will also be on hand with authentic Italian food.

A Sample of Market Favorites

Beyond the hot meals, we offer a diverse selection of local goods, including:

Fresh Food & Provisions: Produce, local artisan crafters, grain-finished beef, grass-fed beef, raw local honey, gourmet pastries, fried pies and sourdough breads.

Health & Pantry: Tallow-based products, beeswax candles, coffee beans and ground coffee, gluten-free and dye-free baked goods, jams (including jalapeño), pickled and fermented foods, yogurt and sourdough starters, and freeze-dried fruits.

Specialty Items: Olga’s bee venom cream, popular self-defense key chains, DIY ferment kits, hot and iced coffee, boba tea — and so much more!

The market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays (weather permitting) at the Endurance Church parking lot, located at 805 Worley Drive in West Plains (next to Hirsch Feed & Farm Supply).
