GO FARM’ FARMER’S MARKET: The official jam and syrup takeover

Posted

For years, Craig Jennings, owner of Ozark Fruit Company and co-founder of the “GoFarm” Farmers Market, has made a name for himself with his popular homemade jams and syrups. Many area residents have purchased Craig’s products right here at the farmers market, in local retail stores and even at area restaurants.

It was a bittersweet decision, but with new adventures and opportunities keeping him busy, Craig has decided to step away from making his jams and syrups. But don’t worry — Craig isn’t leaving the market entirely! You will still find him behind his booth every Saturday with raw local honey and other products.

So…. Who’s taking over the jam and syrup business?

Craig wants his longtime customers to continue receiving the same great quality, selection and experience they have come to expect. He personally recommends two trusted "Go Farm" vendors who offer a wide variety of jams and syrups — plus even more flavors and products:

- Barefoot Holler (Abby Eldringhoff-Burleson): Located down by the carport area, Abby is always creating something new and brings fresh items almost every week. New this week, she will feature real fruit popsicles for just $1 each in pineapple, watermelon, peach, cherry, strawberry, blackberry, blueberry and raspberry flavors. She also offers an array of jams, syrups and pickled items.

- Farmer Little (Sally Little): Sally brings a great selection of quality jams, syrups, pickled products and elderberry syrup. She also makes “Bugger Off,” a natural insect repellent spray — and I can personally testify that it works!

An important note: Both Barefoot Holler and Farmer Little have completed official Better Process Control School certification and work out of approved commercial kitchens, just as Craig did. They are currently the only two vendors at our market certified to offer commercially prepared canned products, including a variety of local pickled goods, salsas and more.

Craig's customers can continue shopping with absolute confidence while discovering new favorite flavors. Be sure to stop by their booths this Saturday to say hello and see what they have to offer!

Transportation Available

West Plains Transit provides convenient drop-offs at the market during operating hours on Wednesdays, provided passengers call in to schedule their ride with a 24-hour notice.

Food Court & Market Favorites

Our food vendors frequently sell out, so we encourage shoppers to arrive early. This week's food court features a brand-new addition alongside our regular favorites: Ford Family Farms, featuring new Mexican street corn.

They join our regulars providing authentic cuisines: Grassy Hill Farms, Filipino dishes; JLP Catering, Italian specialties; The Two Sisters Sweets: Homemade vanilla ice cream and root beer floats; and Tribal Cajun, Cajun food.

A brief sample of our regular weekly items includes local artisan crafts, tallow products, beeswax candles, coffee beans and ground coffee, grain-finished and grass-fed beef, raw local honey, gourmet pastries, fried pies, sourdough breads, Olga's Bee Venom Cream, and boba tea.

The market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays (weather permitting) at the Endurance Church parking lot, 805 Worley Drive in West Plains (next to Hirsch Feed & Farm Supply).

We accept SNAP/EBT, Double Up Food Bucks (DUBS), cash, credit and debit cards. Stay connected by following “GoFarm” Farmers Market of West Plains on Facebook @gofarmwestplains, visiting OzarkMarketPlace.com or calling 417-293-0590.

See y'all Saturday!
