Missouri’s real estate market saw substantial gains in both sales prices and total dollar volume in April compared to the same time last year, according to a new report from Missouri Realtors.
The association’s April 2026 Market Statistics Report indicates 6,733 residential properties were sold across the state during the month.
Prices continued an upward trajectory. The median sales price for a home in Missouri reached $280,000, a 4.5% increase compared to April 2025. The average residential sale price also saw a notable boost, climbing 6.7% to $338,947.
Total dollar volume for the month saw significant gains, increasing 30.8% compared to the previous year and jumping 33.4% compared to March. The market generated more than $2.28 billion in April, up from $1.71 billion in the previous month.
The report also tracked financing trends, citing data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The average 30-year fixed mortgage interest rate for April was 6.3%. Rates have ticked upward since then, sitting at 6.51% as of May 21.
