Ozarks Healthcare named regional anchor for state rural health push

Posted

Ozarks Healthcare has been selected as a Hub Anchor organization for Missouri’s Rural Health Transformation Program, a statewide effort to strengthen rural health care through collaboration and community partnerships.

The Missouri Department of Social Services selected Ozarks Healthcare as one of 27 Hub Anchor organizations across the state to help implement the Transformation of Rural Community Health Care model in designated rural community hub areas.

The selection followed a competitive review process that evaluated organizations based on readiness, governance capacity, community partnerships, staffing plans, operations and alignment with the goals of the state program.

As a Hub Anchor organization, Ozarks Healthcare will help bring together health care providers, community organizations and local leaders to improve coordination of care, connect individuals with resources and address rural health needs.

“Improving the health of rural communities requires strong partnerships and alignment among health care organizations, community agencies and local leaders,” said Terence Farrell, Ozarks Healthcare president and CEO. “This opportunity allows us to work alongside others who share a commitment to strengthening resources, improving coordination and creating a more connected health care experience for the patients and communities we serve.”

Through the ToRCH Care model, participating organizations will work together to create a more connected health care experience for rural residents by addressing needs both inside and outside traditional clinical settings.

“Serving rural communities has always been at the heart of Ozarks Healthcare’s mission,” said Josh Reeves, Ozarks Healthcare vice president of development and advocacy. “Being selected as a Hub Anchor organization allows us to continue building partnerships and strengthening the health care resources available throughout our region. We are honored to help advance solutions that improve access, coordination and health outcomes for rural Missourians.”

Ozarks Healthcare said the designation builds on its ongoing work to expand access to care, partner with local organizations and support rural residents across south-central Missouri and northern Arkansas.
