Ozarks Healthcare and the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will host a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Willard Hunter Classroom at Parkway Center, 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd. in West Plains.
Through Oct. 31, successful CBCO donors will receive a “You Otter Give Blood” T-shirt and a voucher for two free admissions to Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield while supplies last.
CBCO provides blood, platelets and plasma to more than 40 hospitals in northwest Arkansas, southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas. The organization says one blood donation can help as many as three patients.
Appointments are encouraged to help reduce wait times, although walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, call 417-227-5006 or visit cbco.org/donate-blood.
Donors are encouraged to drink plenty of water or juice the night before and morning of the drive, eat a balanced meal about two to three hours before donating and bring a photo ID, which is required.
