OZH Pharmacies offer daily flu shots, pop-up clinics

Posted

As the 2023 flu season approaches, Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacies are taking steps to make it easier for people to prioritize their health, say officials.

Flu shots are now available daily at most Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy locations, officials announce, and two pop-up clinics will be held this fall at the system’s pharmacy in Gainesville.

Daily walk-in flu shots may be acquired during regular pharmacy hours on weekdays at the following locations: in West Plains, OZH Pharmacy, 307 N. Kentucky Ave., 417-256-7533 and OZH Pharmacy, 1100 Kentucky Ave., 417-256-1793, and in Thayer, OZH Pharmacy in the Thayer clinic, 1375 Nettleton Ave., 417-264-7115.

Regular quadrivalent flu shots are available for no copay with most insurances and $25 if paying cash. High-dose flu shots are also available.

In addition to daily flu shots, Ozarks Healthcare pharmacists can come to vaccinate employees at places of business or schools if there are more than 20 individuals who wish to receive a shot onsite, said officials. For more information, contact Melynni Yarber, Ozarks Healthcare pharmacist, at 417-256-1793.

The healthcare system will also bring flu shot clinics directly to its Gainesville community with a pop-up clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Gainesville clinic, 512 Third St.

“The flu vaccine is the most effective way to protect yourself, your family and your community from the flu's potentially serious complications,” remind officials. “By getting vaccinated, you not only safeguard your own health but also help reduce the spread of flu viruses to those who may be more vulnerable.”

"Your health is our focus this flu season,” says Outpatient Pharmacy Director Katie Mahan. "We understand the importance of accessibility when it comes to flu shots, and we are committed to making the process as convenient and safe as possible."

The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone age 6 months and older, especially those at higher risk of complications, such as young children, pregnant women, seniors and people with underlying health conditions. Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacies follow all recommended health protocols to ensure a safe and comfortable vaccination experience, say officials.
