The Ozarks Small Business Incubator will host three professional development workshops this fall at OzSBI, 408 Washington Ave. in West Plains.
OzSBI is offering the workshops in partnership with the Missouri State University-West Plains Office of Workforce Development and Community Education and the Missouri State University Small Business Development Center-West Plains.
The full-day workshops will each be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and will focus on supervision, team management and emotional intelligence for leaders.
High-Performance Supervision will be held Sept. 25. The workshop is designed for first-level or newly appointed supervisors, as well as experienced leaders looking to sharpen their skills. Topics will include supervisory styles, workplace systems, stakeholder expectations, generational and cognitive differences, and leadership practices for hybrid and diverse teams.
Managing Team Attitudes & Expectations will be held Oct. 14. The workshop will focus on building stronger teams by reducing friction, setting clear expectations and aligning goals. Topics will include the differences between work groups and teams, characteristics of high-performing teams, Tuckman’s Team Development Model, trust, communication and strategies for working with individual differences.
Emotional Intelligence: The Ingredient for Effective Leaders will be held Nov. 17. The workshop will focus on how emotions affect behavior, relationships, decision-making and leadership. Participants will examine emotional intelligence, self-awareness, communication and ways to respond effectively in difficult situations.
Each workshop costs $250 for OzSBI members and $275 for nonmembers. Lunch is included. The workshop series is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
