A new citizen organization, Missouri for Fair Housing, has formed to advocate for affordable, equitable and livable housing across the state.
Founded by renters concerned about the high cost of rent and the condition of available units, the Springfield-based group plans to lobby state legislators for statewide tenants' rights. Organizers also plan to hold public meetings to educate and engage citizens on housing issues.
The group’s board includes President Thomas Nowacki, Treasurer and Advisor David Weinsaft and Secretary, Agent and Advisor Edwin Hoag.
Anyone interested in learning more or joining the group's advocacy efforts can contact Nowacki at Missouriffairhousing@yahoo.com.
