The Zizzers tennis team scored a 6-3 win Thursday over Mtn. View-Birch Tree Liberty on the courts at West Plains High School. "A good day for Zizzer Tennis," Head Coach Nathan Huddleston said. Breaking down the results, Adam Vaughan and Brett Harris got a win at No. 1 doubles, LJ Temple and Reilly Jolliff won at No. 2 doubles and Mason Lancaster and Brady Anselm won at No. 3 doubles, playing varsity for the first time, as varsity players Michael McKale and Mikey Strong were absent. As for singles, West Plains got wins with No. 2 Temple, No. 3 Harris and No. 4 Jolliff, who is shown following through on a serve during Thursday’s match. The Zizzers traveled Friday to Joplin for the Bird Dog Border Battle, and then headed Monday to the Lebanon Double Duals before hosting Rolla Tuesday afternoon at home.

West Plains High School hosted a Zizzer Basketball Meet-and-Greet for boys basketball student-athletes on Tuesday. The session with newly-named Head Coach Seth Huddleston, standing, left, provided an opportunity for student-athletes to connect with him and learn about his vision for the 2025-26 season. During the event, Coach Huddleston discussed his goals and expectations for the team, emphasizing the importance of commitment, teamwork and development. West Plains R-7 School District officials have announced Dr. Seth Huddleston as the new head coach of the West Plains High School Boys Basketball team. Huddleston has a long history of coaching, most recently leading the West Plains Middle School boys' basketball program. His experience, dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact on student athletes at every level, said officials. In addition to his new role, Dr. Huddleston will continue serving as principal of South Fork Elementary School, where officials say he has been a “valued leader and advocate for students and staff.” He has been employed with the district since 2008.
