Ava motorcyclist seriously injured Sunday

A 47-year-old Ava man suffered serious injuries when he was thrown from his motorcycle in a crash at 8:35 a.m. Sunday on K Highway, 5 miles south of Seymour in Webster County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. A. James, with Troop D of the patrol, Springfield, reported a southbound 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan ridden by the man ran off the road and overturned.

The rider was wearing a helmet and was taken to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield for treatment, the report shows.

 

Four hurt, driver arrested following Friday crash near Willow Springs

Four area residents suffered injuries in a crash at 6:30 p.m. Friday on County Road 5120, 8 miles south of Willow Springs in Howell County.

Msgt. M.J. Chastain, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a westbound 2007 Ford Ranger driven by an 18-year-old Willow Springs man ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

The driver suffered minor injuries and it is unknown if he sought treatment, the report shows. A 17-year-old Caulfield girl and a 17-year-old West Plains boy, both passengers, suffered moderate injuries and were taken by private vehicle to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment. A third passenger, a man whose age and hometown are not known, suffered minor injuries and it is also unknown if he sought treatment.

The driver and the two teenage passengers were not wearing seat belts; seat belt use for the adult male passenger is unknown.

An online arrest report posted by the patrol shows Daniel G. Dashkevich, 18, of Willow Springs, was arrested at 7:16 p.m. Friday in Howell County. He faces pending charges of felony driving while intoxicated resulting in a crash with an injury, felony leaving the scene of an accident and failure to drive on the right half of the road.

 

Hartshorn woman injured near Summersville

A 49-year-old Hartshorn woman suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 12:30 p.m. July 13 on Stoops Road, 3 miles west of Summersville in Texas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. B.A. Swink reported a northbound 2004 Chevrolet Colorado driven by the woman failed to yield at an intersection and struck an eastbound 2014 Nissan Versa driven by a 32-year-old Summersville man.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The Hartshorn woman was taken by private vehicle for treatment, the report shows. No injuries were reported for the driver of the Nissan.

 

Mtn. Grove attempts to avoid deer, crashes in Fordland

A 24-year-old Mtn. Grove man suffered minor injuries in a crash at 3:10 a.m. July 14 on west U.S. 60 at Fordland in Webster County.

Tpr. A.M. James, with Troop D, reported a westbound 2024 Nissan Kicks driven by the man ran off the right side of the road and struck several trees after the driver steered to avoid a deer.

The driver was wearing a seat belt and was taken by ambulance to Cox South for treatment, the report shows.
