A Cabool native is among the newest troopers to join the Missouri State Highway Patrol following a recent graduation ceremony honoring the agency's latest academy class.
After completing 15 weeks of rigorous training at the patrol's academy, Tpr. Aaron T. Sigman of Cabool has been assigned to Troop G. He will serve in Zone 1, which covers Texas and Wright counties.
Nineteen new troopers were officially welcomed to the force during a graduation ceremony featuring several state dignitaries. Gov. Mike Kehoe provided the keynote address for the graduating class, and Missouri Supreme Court Judge Kelly Broniec administered the official oath of office. Highway Patrol Col. Michael Turner also addressed the recruits.
The ceremony featured traditional honors, with the Troop F Color Guard presenting the colors and Sgt. Andrew A. Henry of Troop H performing the national anthem. Pastor Byron Beck of Fellowship General Baptist Church provided the event's invocation and benediction.
During the ceremony, four class awards were presented to recruits who excelled during their 15 weeks of training. Throughout the academy, recruits accumulated points toward graduation in the categories of physical fitness, firearms and academics. The person with the highest number of points in each category earned the respective award.
Tpr. Keaton D. Siebenaler accepted the Physical Fitness Award, Tpr. James Q. Chapman accepted the Firearms Trophy, and Tpr. Zachary K. Bridges accepted the Academics Award.
To conclude the honors, Col. Turner presented the Colonel C.E. “Mel” Fisher Superintendent’s Award to Siebenaler. This award is given to the recruit who accumulates the highest number of points overall across all three categories during their time at the academy.
Sigman will now report to Troop G to begin his assignment patrolling the roadways of Texas and Wright counties.
