An 80-year-old Gainesville resident suffered serious injuries in a collision Thursday evening on CC Highway, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash happened at 6:20 p.m., 30 minutes before area resident Jeff Collins snapped this photo 4 miles west of West Plains. Msgt. C.A. Kimes, Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a westbound 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pulled onto the highway and was struck from behind by a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts and the 80-year-old woman driving the Colorado was flown by Air Evac to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield for treatment. No injuries were reported for the driver of the S-10, a 67-year-old man from West Plains.
