July 13
Melbourne Nathaniel McCay, 28, was arrested by Deputy Avery Stolba on a charge of first-degree assault involving serious physical injury or a special victim. He was held on $25,000 bond.
July 14
Eric Jordan Campbell, 26, was arrested by Deputy Stolba on charges of first-degree assault (or attempt) involving serious physical injury or a special victim and felony resisting arrest. He was released the same day on a $25,000 bond.
July 16
Jacob Thomas Jaszemski, 36, was arrested by Deputy Dennis Antrim on a charge of being a felony fugitive from out of state. He was released the same day on $100,000 bond.
At 9:50 a.m., Lt. Jason Long responded with the fugitive task force and Texas County Deputies to the home of alleged fugitive Michael D. Spacek on the 1400 block of Highway 17 south of Summersville. Spacek was wanted on multiple felony warrants out of Howell and Texas counties, and was found hiding in a cubby hole in his closet. Once located, he was taken into custody without incident.
Deputy First Class Austin DeShazo took a report at 10:29 a.m. in the sheriff’s office lobby regarding sexual misconduct involving a child younger than 15. Investigation is underway.
July 16
Lucas Wayne Erickson, 27, was arrested by Deputy Michael Pauly on a warrant charging him with stealing $750 or more and held on $15,000 bond. The arrest followed a search warrant served by fugitive task force officers and West Plains narcotics investigators at 4:10 p.m. on the 1100 block of Davidson Street. Erickson surrendered without incident.
Dallas Michael Doyle Jr., 17, was arrested by Deputy Rodney Harper on charges of armed criminal action and first-degree assault (or attempt) involving serious physical injury or a special victim. He was held on $100,000 bond.
July 17
At 6:10 a.m., Deputy Tyler West was advised by an arrestee who reported being a victim of domestic assault and rape. The case is under investigation.
July 19
Joseph Edward Garza, 23, was arrested by Lt. Seth Smith on charges of second-degree domestic assault, first-degree property damage and stealing a vehicle. He was released the same day on $25,000 bond.
July 20
Carrie Lynn Waldeier, 52, was booked into the jail by Jail Sgt. Shane Cronican on a charge of helping a sex offender elude law enforcement regarding noncompliance with the sex offender registry. She was released July 22 without bond.
Lt. Long responded with fugitive task force officers and West Plains Police Detective John Hughston to Palmer Street in West Plains in search of Jeremiah Johns. A short time later, while the location was under surveillance, Johns left the home in a vehicle, which was then stopped in a traffic stop. He was taken into custody without incident.
July 22
Jon Gavin Roop, 23, was arrested by West Plains Police Officer Robert Shell on a charge of being a felony fugitive from out of state. He was held on $50,000 bond and released from Howell County custody on July 24.
Didi Janell Drexler, 40, was arrested by Deputy Pauly on July 22 on charges of third-degree assault of a special victim, two counts; driving while intoxicated; peace disturbance, two counts; and resisting arrest. She is held on $5,000 bond.
At 6:27 p.m., Deputy Kyle Hambelton forced entry into a home on the 3000 block of U.S. 160 while responding to a call regarding a suicidal woman. The woman was found lying on her bed, unresponsive. Medical attention was given and she was taken by an ambulance for care.
July 23
Logan Taylor Bell, 22, was arrested by Cpl. Colter Reid on a charge of stealing a firearm, explosive weapon or ammonium nitrate. He is held on $5,000 bond. Reid responded at 10:21 a.m. to the area of Cedar Street for a reported stolen firearm. The weapon was recovered, and the suspect was jailed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.
July 24
At 12:38 p.m., Deputy DeShazo responded to a business on the 1700 block of U.S. 160 for a report of a stolen firearm, taken while in transit between Howell County and the state of Texas. The case is closed but will be reopened if more evidence is uncovered.
July 26
Deputy Stolba was dispatched at 3:51 p.m. to a home on County Road 3140 in Mtn. View for a youth who attempted suicide. When he arrived, first responders were performing life-saving measures. The youth was flown by Air Evac to a hospital in Springfield for emergency treatment.
