Two motorcycle riders were hurt in area crashes over the weekend, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
An Arkansas man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash at 7:30 a.m. Saturday on south Highway 17, 8 miles south of West Plains. Tpr. J.D. Healy, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a northbound 2025 Kawasaki Ninja ridden by the man struck an anima and ran off the left side of the road; the rider was thrown from the vehicle.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helme, and he was flown by Air Evac to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield for treatment.
A 22-year-old Versailles man suffered moderate injuries in a motorcycle crash at 4:10 p.m. Saturday on Highway 14, 3 miles east of Ava in Douglas County.
Tpr. A.C. White reported an eastbound 2013 Honda Shadow ridden by the man ran off the road, struck a Missouri Department of Transportation sign and came to rest on its side.
The rider was wearing a helmet and refused treatment at the scene.
