The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Division of State Parks is accepting applications for its 2026-2027 Bus Grant Program, which helps fund student field trips to state parks and historic sites.
The noncompetitive grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to Missouri public school districts, private schools, charter schools and youth-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. The funds are used to underwrite transportation costs for prekindergarten through 12th grade students to connect with nature and local history.
Applications will be accepted until May 14, 2027.
The state park system is primarily funded by a 0.1% Parks, Soils and Water Sales Tax, which provides about three-fourths of the division's budget. Additional funding comes from revenues generated within the park system and federal funds.
