Two from Ava hurt in four-vehicle crash

Two Ava men were injured in a four-vehicle crash at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 76,  5 miles west of Goodhope in Douglas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Sgt. L.S. Elliott, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a westbound 2013 Chevrolet pickup attempting to pass a 2008 Jeep Wrangler near the crest of a hill struck an eastbound 2002 Ford F-350 nearly head-on.

The Chevrolet and Jeep then collided, and after both vehicles ran off the right side of the road, the Jeep struck a tree, Elliot reported. A westbound 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 was struck by debris from the crash.

The driver of the Jeep, a 74-year-old Ava man, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Cox Ambulance to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield for treatment, the report shows. The driver of the Ford, a 23-year-old Ava man, was taken by private vehicle to the Mercy Hospital emergency department in Ozark for treatment of minor injuries.

No injuries were reported for the driver of the Dodge, a 42-year-old man from Ava, or the driver of the Chevrolet, a 24-year-old Gainesville man.

 

 

Collision with semi injures Raymondville woman

 

A 33-year-old Raymondville woman suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 137 at the north city limits of Raymondville in Texas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. J.L. Sentman reported a southbound 2011 Suzuki Sportback driven by the woman crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2011 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by a 52-year-old Summersville man.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The Raymondville woman was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston for treatment, the report shows. No injuries were reported for the driver of the semi-truck.
