March 30

John Tobias Croteau, 53, was arrested by Deputy Melanie Roam on a charge of driving while intoxicated, resulting in physical injury. He was held without bond.

 

March 31

Tristen Thomas Wilson, 24, was arrested by Jacob Wilson, rank and agency unspecified, on charges of armed criminal action, first-degree assault or attempt involving serious injury or a special victim and driving while revoked or suspended. He was held on $100,250 bond, $250 of which was cash.

David Allen Bennett, 42, was arrested by Deputy Avery Stolba on charges of second-degree assault involving a special victim, two counts; driving while revoked or suspended; failure to equip a rear license plate light; driving on a highway without a valid license, two counts; driving carelessly and imprudently; second-degree property damage involving law enforcement; and resisting arrest, stop or detention by fleeing and creating substantial risk, two counts. He was held on $400 cash bond for one of the valid license charges, and without bond on the remainder.

 

April 7

At 12:26 p.m., Deputy Nicholas Barslow spoke to someone on the phone about livestock missing from the area of U.S. 160 just northeast of South Fork. The case is under investigation.

Elijah Joseph Harper was arrested by Deputy Stolba on charges of first-degree vehicle tampering and possession of a controlled substance. He was released the same day on $7,500 bond. On April 15, Harper was arrested by West Plains Police Officer Robert Shell on charges of second-degree burglary; stealing, value of $750 or more, two counts; stealing a firearm, two counts; stealing a vehicle, two counts; and Class C felony second-degree drug trafficking. He is held on $300,000 bond.

 

April 12

Landon Lane Marsh, 21, was arrested by West Plains Police Officer Jesse Martin on domestic assault charges: two counts each of first- and second-degree, and a count of third-degree. He was also placed on a detention hold for probation. Bond was set at $100,000 for the domestic assault charges.

 

April 15

At 9:19 a.m., Deputy Leekota Amore, acting as school resource officer on the West Plains R-7 Schools campus, reported he was contacted the previous afternoon by a Willow Springs School District student regarding problems at home. The case was referred with the Willow Springs Police Department.

Deputy John Buenger responded at 1:32 p.m. to Zizzer Pride Academy to assist Children’s Division with a hotline investigation into an allegation of second-degree sexual child trafficking.

Lisa Marie Silva-Oropeza, 34, was arrested by Officer Shell on a Class C felony charge of second-degree drug trafficking. She is held on $50,000 bond.

Daniel James Martin, 44, was arrested by Lt. Jason Long on charges of first-degree burglary and third-degree assault involving a special victim. He was released the same day on $5,000 bond.

William Michael Sanders, 40, was arrested by Deputy Sean Buenger on charges of armed criminal action; second-degree kidnapping, two counts; and unlawful use of a weapon by exhibiting. He is held without bond.

 

April 16

Sgt. Seth Smith reported he assisted with the execution of a search warrant at 12:12 p.m. on County Road 4210 for James Dean Varnum, wanted in Howell County. Varnum, 40, was arrested by Lt. Long on a charge of stealing a vehicle and held on $50,000 bond. Smith noted Varnum resisted the arrest, and a separate person was arrested on a charge of hindering prosecution by trying to hide Varnum’s whereabouts.
